The Top Instagram Trends Revealed

The Top Instagram Trends Revealed

Art provides a means of escapism, and considering the year we’ve all had, it’s no wonder that we’re all experiencing a new-found appreciation for art.

We’ve turned to Instagram to discover the most popular Instagram trends and uncover our favorite up-and-coming artists to watch out for.

Floral art the most popular on Instagram

The influence of the pandemic seems to have also been apparent in the art world, with floral art rising in popularity by 46.5% over the last 12 months, and receiving the highest amount of positivity, at 76%. Nature themed art has also had a hugely positive sentiment – perhaps because people have been seeking escapism, and are longing to be connected with nature, having been trapped indoors for so long.

Surrealism, abstract and psychedelic art have also seen an increase in popularity on Instagram. With the pandemic and changing restrictions bringing about feelings of confusion, it’s perhaps an emotion that people can resonate with; and interestingly, some of these art types are similar to the expressionist movement, which surfaced during the last global pandemic.

In contrast, geometric art has seen a 35% increase in popularity – potentially a hint that people have been seeking stability and a more rigid routine in their daily lives.
