This book is the story of Aslan’s creation of Narnia, the coronation of his first king and queen and his gift of speech to some animals. Aslan tells the two main characters Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer that the evil Jadis (who would later become the White Witch) would pose a larger threat to Narnians.
The Pevensies are summoned from their world to Narnia to help Caspian, the rightful King of Narnia, overthrow his usurper Uncle Miraz and restore the freedom of the land. When they are lost in the forest Aslan calls Lucy to lead her brothers to him – some more faithful than others.
Aslan is the first introduced when. Mr. Beaver speaks to the Pevensie children (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy) about him and that children (such as the Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve) are chosen who will help end the tyrannical rule of the white witch. Aslan is a noble golden lion who personifies the kindness and justice of Narnia. When the Pevensie children first hear his name they immediately experience intense sensations that they cannot understand.
Edmund had betrayed his brothers and went to the White Witch. His smug horror—the mysticism surrounding Aslan—will only grow when the children learn more about him. Mr. Beaver told the children that Aslan was the son of the King of Narnia and the Emperor of the Sea. Aslan corrected all mistakes, including removing the White Witch from her evil kingdom in Narnia.
Aslan, also known as the Great Lion, is the creator and true King of the Narnia world and in general the personification of everything good. Aslan appears to Narnia as a large and terrifying lion, but equally majestic and wise, with good eyes. If you have read the first two Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, you know already that Aslan is the great lion who rules Narnia.
In The Voyage of the Voyage of the Dawn Trapper is Aslan manifested as the baptist and redemption of Eustace, as a magical white lamb and as an albatross that momentsarily resembles a cross.
Aslan is the son of the Emperor over the sea and he comes from land or world – his exact nature is unknown – known as the Land of Aslan and brought everything – from creatures to landscapes, skies and stars – from the dark void – singing and roaring. Narnia was modeled after the land of Aslan, the “real” Narnia, though it was nothing more than a shadow of its glory.
